Rap N Roll e-flyer 2015

Rap N’ Roll: Afro Alternative Music Series + Showcase (presented by Dalton Higgins) returns for its winter 2015 edition. This “urban alternative” live concert experience features the genre-bending electronic, punk, reggae, soul and nouveau-rap contributions of NYC’s Young Paris, Bonjay, Bakers Club, Junia T & Juice Money Collective, Phoenix Pagliacci, DJ 8AM811 and some very Special Guests – musical mavericks who are reshaping the urban music landscape.

Tired of predictable BET (or commercial “urban” radio) Top 20 playlists that take pleasure in trafficking low musicianship and hip hop and R&B caricatures?

Interested in Blu, Jimi Hendrix, Killer Mike (of Run The Jewels) music and politics, Janelle Monae, Roc Marciano, Bad Brains, Flying Lotus, Grace Jones, Shabazz Palaces, Frank Ocean, Chronixx, Rapsody, Mos Def, Lil B The Based God, Cody Chestnutt, Jay Electronica, Kabaka Pyramid or Pro Era (including the late Capital Steeze)?

Then this carefully calculated & curated music showcase is for you!

Where: The Rivoli (334 Queen St West – Toronto, Canada)

When: Friday February 27, 2015

Time: 9pm

Damage: $10
